Now that we are in March, and hopefully Spring is around the corner, this is a great time of year to carry out some Spring cleaning on your business and to help keep you on track for your 2017 goals.

This is a great month to think about your relationships with your customers and what it is you could be doing to show your customers some LOVE.

It pays to keep things simple when composing advertising and marketing material.  You are not going to be impressed if I start using technical terms or industry speak to describe whatever it is I am trying to explain to you.  It is far better that I use everyday language and short words in concise sentences.

In order to achieve business success, we need to have loyal customers. Did you know that businesses have a 60 to 70% chance of selling to existing customers, while making a sale to a new customer can be anywhere between 5 and 20% success rate. Most sales are done on a Know, Like and Trust Factor. So, it’s vital that we build relationships with our customers in order to help our business become successful.

When it comes to small businesses where you may be a sole trader, you and the business are one and the same, at least as far as marketing to the public is concerned.

There is no way of avoiding it – you are going to have to do some selling.

Now I know a lot of people shy away from the very idea of marketing but with a small business there is simply no getting away from it.  Here are a few ideas to help you along the way.

I hear a lot of people saying that social media has replaced print advertising and marketing. I’m here to tell you that not only is that not the case but in fact they make a damn fine team!
