On March 24 2015 McDonalds are holding a global event called imlovinit24 where they will give away 24 different types of gifts during 24 hours in 24 major cities across the world.
The event kicks off in Auckland, New Zealand, where customers will receive their burgers in special cartons which will sing songs, make funny noises or pass comment.
As the day progresses more wacky ideas will be tried out:
• Customers in Italy who turn up wearing pyjamas will receive a free breakfast over the 24 hours
• In Brazil people will be given ice coupons which they must redeem before they melt away
• Participants in a giant coffee mug shaped ball pit in Sydney, Australia will receive a free coffee
The day culminates in America when R&B singer Ne-Yo will sing a “Lovin’” anthem composed of lyrics crowd-sourced from fans.
Of course, few companies have a marketing budget the size of McDonalds, nor their world-wide customer base.
